Prince of Wales Island is the third largest island in the United States. It is approximately the size of the state of Delaware (2231 square miles). It’s located on Alaska’s panhandle within close proximity of British Columbia “You can see it from the Bear’s Den’s porch on clear days.” Coffman Cove is a picturesque small town located on the northeast corner of the Island.

We provide a 2pm Saturday check-in and an early morning checkout on the following Saturday. A rented vehicle will be provided for your to travel to and from the Bear’s Den and also for your use during the week. It will be available for your pickup at either Klawock Airport or the Hollis Ferry Terminal. The rental vehicle is included in your fee for the Bear’s Den, but a valid credit card and driver’s license is required to complete the rental transaction.

The Alaska Marine Highway services Ketchikan and commercial air carriers service Prince of Wales multiple times daily.

Ferry Service: There is ferry service to POW daily leaving Ketchikan and arriving in Hollis on POW. Round trip tickets for the ferry are approximately $100 http://interislandferry.com
